Bert Burke, Ph.D., 82, of Lecanto, FL passed away July 11, 2018. While starting out his career as a Clinical Psychologist/ Psychoanalyst, Bert eventually became a Prolific Inventor, holding 17 patents. Some of his most popular inventions include the Gift Card and the Rounding of Checking Accounts, such as "Keep the Change" by Bank of America. His most recent patented invention is "MoveOverSlowDrivers", an automotive solution that helps to prevent road rage associated with slow drivers blocking fast highway lanes.

Whenever Bert was asked where he was from, the answer was always "God's Country", also known as Bayonne, NJ. Bert was the "Life of the Party", often wearing crazy hats and encouraging others to join him. He was a great lover of art which inspired him on a daily basis. Bert's love of the Seton Hall Pirates was only surpassed by his love of the game of golf. His life of creativity will be forever remembered by his friends and family, including his wife, Michaela Burke, his three children - Bryan Burke and his wife, Mary Ann Burke of Alexandria, VA, Kelly Cooper and her husband, Cliff Cooper of Whitehouse Station, NJ, and Kaela Forker of Toronto Ontario, Canada, his six grandchildren - Brianna, Connor, Bailey, Riley, Nate and Hayden and his sister Patsy McGeehan, along with his predeceased sister, Maureen (Mickey) McLaughlin. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Four Square Church in Crystal River Florida, on Saturday, August 11th at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Hager, officiating.
