Bertha Glatz Obituary
Bertha Glatz

Toms River - Bertha Glatz of Toms River went to be home with the Lord with her family at home by her side.

Born in Jersey City, she relocated to Forked River and lived there for 34 years before moving to Toms River. She was a medical receptionist and worked with a number of local doctors as well as at Lacey Nursing Home for over 13 years. She was a faithful communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Berkeley Twp. and served as a Eucharistic Minister, visiting the homebound and patients at Health South Rehabilitation Center for the past 20 years.

Bertha enjoyed spending quality time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and her greatest joy was found in attending each of her grandchildren's special events and celebrations. She was selfless in her devotion to others, and could often be found visiting people in need and praying with them as well as for them. She was a source of comfort to everyone she met, and always lived one day at a time, enjoying all life brought her way.

Bertha was predeceased by her beloved husband, Fred, who passed away in 2013. She is survived by her wonderful children, Paul and Barbara, Andrew and Lisa, and her three fantastic grandchildren, Amanda, Samantha and Jake; her former daughter-in-law, Wendy Glatz-Akmentins and husband, Doug; her lifelong angel and friend, Elizabeth Kelly; and her friends Pat Wendel and Lois Mumma.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, 130 St Maximilian Lane, Toms River, NJ 08757 (off Mule Rd.) at 10:30AM on Tuesday April 10th. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 56 Cedar Grove Road, Toms River, immediately following.
