AGE: 95 • Freehold

Betsy Liddell Morse, 95, passed away at her home at Applewood on January 3, 2017 in Freehold. She was born to the late John and Agnes (Neilson) Liddell in New York City, NY. She spent most of her adult life in Shrewsbury and had a deep and abiding love for the town and so many of its children and their families.

The widow of Robert Weston Morse, she is survived by her children: Bob and his wife Veronica Morse of Waipahu, HI and Nessa (Bunny) Neilson Morse and her partner Gary Beauregard of Shrewsbury. Her grandchildren include RJ, Heidi and great grandson Callum Morse of Seattle, WA, and granddaughters Lauren (Rosie) Morse of Vista, CA and Kimi (Riley) Morse who is currently teaching in China.

Her surviving nephews and nieces include: John (Sam) and Mel Liddell, their son Jed and his family, Donna Morse Sellers, her husband Steve and their son Collin, David and Landa Morse and their children Monica and David Jr., Raymond Neilson Liddell and Deborah Liddell Reichenbach and families, and Bill Thuma, husband of her dear niece, the late Nancy Neilson Liddell.

Amongst the many beloved local "kids" she always considered as her extended family are her "adopted" nieces and nephews: Mary Anne (Ooch) Nigro, Robert and Nadia Nigro and their children Anna, George, and Lizzie, Nadine D. Chiaramonte and her husband Mike, and Leah D. Price, her husband James, and their children John and David. Other of her "kids" who have always held a truly special place in her heart include Karen Scherer Audet, Ron Scherer, SteveTomaino, Ron Tomaino, Bob Luehman, Jeff Clark, Bill Clark, Jeter, Doug, and David Bentley, Carol Mass Clark and Ray Mass, Frank Clark, Kate and Clare Brogan, Ellen Meakim Walling, Sheila Haese, Mary Boo Christian, and the late Kathy Rice Schuck and Patty Rice.

Her greatest gift to all was sharing so much of her light, kindness, creativity, wisdom, joy-filled and often zany humor, and great love throughout her entire life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in Betsy's memory to either the Shrewsbury First Aid Squad, PO Box 262 Shrewsbury NJ 07702 or the Shrewsbury Friends Meeting Building and Grounds Committee, P. O. Box 92, Shrewsbury, NJ 07702. A Memorial Service will be held at a future date.
