Middlesex - Betty Lou Persinko Jelich passed away February 17, 2018. She was born April 19, 1934 in Manville, NJ, and raised in Middlesex, NJ. Betty graduated from Bound Brook High School in 1952, and Rider University in 1954 with an Associate in Arts degree. Married to Stephen J. Jelich on September 11, 1955 they lived in Middlesex, NJ, Duluth, MN, and Danville VA. Together, with the help of family, built a cabin in Stephensville, PA. In the early 90's They retired to Long Beach Island.

Besides being a secretary, Betty was a teacher's aid and a substitute teacher. She was a Girl Scout leader, and a member of the Embroiders Guild, and Red Hats Society. She was a talented artist, sewer, embroiderer, knitter, quilter, carpenter, and an avid gardener.

Betty was predeceased by her daughter Valerie O'Toole and her husband Stephen J. Jelich. She is survived by her daughters Beth Jelich, Carol Jelich, and Lorraine Kane, as well as her grandchildren, Megan, Kim and Keith O'Toole, Stephen Griffin and Shannon and Brittney Kane.

There will be a mass at St Francis in Brant Beach, NJ on March 10, at 11:00. In lieu of flowers a donation to Parkinson's disease or Breast Cancer research is encouraged.
