Carol A. Batistich Obituary
Carol A. Batistich

Brick - Carol Batistich, beloved mother, grandmother and mother-in-law, passed away peacefully at home on April 2, 2018 at the age of 85. A resident of Brick NJ, she is survived by her children Laura (Emilio), Andrew D. (Glorin) and Madeline (Naci), and by her adoring grandchildren Leyla, Jocelyn, Bethany, Jose, Maria and Giulia.

Pre-deceased by her parents Carol and John and younger brother John, Carol was raised in Union City NJ. She was a proud graduate of Emerson High School in Union City and went on to have a successful early career in banking that led to her appointment as the first female teller at Haven Savings Bank in Hoboken, where she caught the eye of a handsome young lawyer.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Andrew F. Batistich. Married in 1957 and together until Andrew's death in 1987, they built a family-owned and operated legal practice in Hoboken NJ. Lawyer Andrew depended on his wife Carol to run the nuts and bolts of the business while he spent his efforts defending and representing families throughout Hudson County.

After Andrew's death, Carol had the luck of becoming re-acquainted with a former high school classmate at her 40th high school reunion. Mario Zaccagna became her partner in 1990 and the couple spent many happy retirement years together in Brick.

Carol's greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren and celebrating their milestones and special occasions, never forgetting birthdays and holidays. She delighted in the smallest detail or accomplishment of each one of them. She appreciated the simple things in life - the bloom of springtime daffodils in her garden, the company of good neighbors, a nice meal and glass of wine with family and friends. Her bright smile, quirky sense of humor and abundant charm will be greatly missed.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home in Toms River on Friday April 6th, from 4 to 7 pm., Funeral Services will be held on Saturday 9:30 am at the Funeral Home, followed by a burial at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, NJ.
