Catherine M. "Kitty" Van Schaack-Rauf, 88, of Bridgewater passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 04, 2017. Born and raised in Hoboken, NJ, she resided in Piscataway before moving to Manchester before moving to the Avalon Assisted Living facility in Bridgewater 4 years ago. She also enjoyed her residence in Stuart, FL where she spent many wonderful winters.

It was there that she developed many new friendships and was active in water aerobics, bocce, and the Stuart Methodist Church. She was outgoing, witty, and was loved by many. She enjoyed listening to music and was one of Frank Sinatra's biggest fans.

She is preceded in death by beloved parents, Catherine and Adolph Roemer; her first husband of 49 years, Charles F. Van Schaack in 1999; a son, Kenneth C. Van Schaack 2002; and her second husband Robert A. Rauf in 2007.

Surviving are her loving daughter Karen and husband Paul Nobbs of Branchburg, NJ; her wonderful sister-in-law, Theresa Van Schaack of Bridgewater, NJ; and 4 cherished grandchildren, Brian and Greg Nobbs and Eric and Allison Van Schaack.

Viewing will be held Monday, January 09, 2017 from 9:30-11:30 AM with a prayer service at 11:30 AM at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876.

Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River, NJ.

The Nobbs' family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation for the outstanding care, love, and support our mom and nana received at the Avalon Assisted Living. She truly loved being a part of the Avalon Family.
