Charles "Charlie" John Dlabik, Sr.

AGE: 75 • Boynton Beach, FL

Charles "Charlie" John Dlabik, Sr., 75, of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away on December 23, 2016. Born in South Amboy, Charlie grew up in Perth Amboy and in Colts Neck. He attended Holy Trinity Elementary School and St. Mary's High School in South Amboy. He graduated from Monmouth College where he played basketball. He worked as a teacher at the Shull School in Perth Amboy for 21 years. A harness racing enthusiast, Charlie also worked for the N.J. Sire Stakes. Charlie retired from the Monmouth County Dept. of Recycling in 2001. Charlie and his family lived in Howell Twp. Charlie coached basketball at St. Veronica's Parish and coached in the Howell Central Little League. He was a member of the St. George Catholic Club, the Knights of Columbus and a served on the Howell Twp. Executive Republican Committee. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother. He is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Helen Dlabik. Surviving are his wife, Charlotte, of Boynton Beach, three children, Charlotte Sholander of Boynton Beach, Kathleen Hankins and son-in-law Robert Hankins of Lake Worth, FL, and Charles Dlabik Jr. and daughter-in-law, Heather, of Prosper, TX, his sister, Evelyn Lukach and brother-in-law Jim Lukach of Milltown, and six grandchildren, Dylan Hankins, Darian Hankins, Diana Dlabik, Helena Dlabik, Olivia Dlabik and Liam Dlabik. Visitation is Tuesday, December 27, 2016, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Boynton Beach Memorial Chapel, 800 West Boynton Beach Blvd., Boynton Beach, FL, 33426. Funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 6090 Hypoluxo Road, Lake Worth, FL, 33463. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the or the .
