AGE: 98 • Toms River

Christian Eugene Adams, Jr., 98, of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Magnolia Gardens Assisted Living Facility in Toms River.

Born in Newark, NJ, he lived in Maplewood before moving to Toms River in 1987.

Christian was a Prison Guard for Essex County for many years.

He served in the US Army in WWII, and was involved in the Invasion of Normandy.

Christian was a member of Masonic Loyalty Lodge #33, the VFW and DAV.

He was an avid supporter of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews and St. Labre Indian School.

Christian was predeceased by his ex-wife and friend, Eva Adams and his longtime companion, Rose Ott.

He is survived by his sons, Christian A. Adams of Alloway, NJ, and Steven P. Adams and his wife Ella of Mabank, TX, grandchildren Eugene Adams and Ethel Olague, great grandchildren Anthony and Isabelle Olague and Victor Shelby Adams-Earnhardt; his step daughter Estelle Lieb, of Hillsborough, NJ, step grandchildren Daniel Lieb and his wife Terry, Margo Solarek and her husband Dan, and Julie Farel and her husband Richard; step great granddaughter, Rebecca Clark and her husband Michael and their daughter Natalie; longtime friend and caregiver Sharon Bucci and her husband Nick, and several other friends and relatives.

The family will receive friends Sunday 4-8pm and Monday 9:00am until the funeral service at 10:00am at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 995 Fischer Blvd., Toms River. Entombment will be Monday at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge, NJ.
