Christine "Chrissie" "Dolly" Ferris Poles, 99, of Toms River died Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Hampton Ridge Nursing Home in Toms River. Born in Franklin, KS, to Luigi and Luisa Staffaroni, she resided in Hillside for twenty years before moving to Toms River where she has resided for the past forty years. Chrissie was known as the "energizer bunny" for her zest for life and constant energy. Chrissie spent the past 35 years volunteering with the Lighthouse, the Woman's Auxiliary at Pleasant Plains Fire Department and various nursing homes in the area. She was a great baker and was well known for her pizzelle cookies always keeping a batch handy for the Gardens of Pleasant Plains club house functions and meetings. She is predeceased by her parents, Luigi & Luisa Staffaroni; husbands, Thomas Ferris, Sr. (1968) and Charles Poles (1996), daughter Ann Marie Jaegel (1980), sister Lydia Garofalo and brother Leo Staffaroni. Surviving are her sons, Lewis & Thomas Ferris, Jr.; sister, Lena Garcia; 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her angels on earth, Robert "St. Francis" Bauer & Rose Jenik. Visitation is Sunday 1-5 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd, Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Monday 10 AM at St Luke's Church, Toms River with entombment to follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
