Christine Piantanida "Chrissy" DeVingo Obituary
Christine "Chrissy" Piantanida DeVingo

AGE: 46 • Long Branch

Christine "Chrissy" Piantanida DeVingo, died on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Monmouth Medical Center from a brave struggle with cancer. Christine was born in Long Branch, New Jersey on February 27, 1970 and lived in Ocean Township, Jackson, and Eatontown at various times in her life. Christine is predeceased by her father, Robert Piantanida, and is survived by her loving husband, Donald DeVingo, her precious son, Peter DeVingo, her mother, Kathleen Piantanida, stepmother Eniko Piantanida, brother, Robert Piantanida, Jr. and his family, her sister, Dawn Graziano, and her family, and her brother, Kevin Piantanida, and his family. Christine is also survived by her grandmother, Clare Kennedy, of Ocean Township, and a large number of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Christine's family had a wonderful group of friends, as well, who gave them immeasurable support. She will be greatly missed by her dog, Blue.

Christine was a graduate of Monmouth Regional High School in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, and graduated from Robert Fiance Beauty School in Perth Amboy, NJ and The Medical Career Institute in Ocean Township, New Jersey. Christine worked as a physician's assistant at Central Jersey Hand Surgery in Freehold, New Jersey until 2014.

Christine enjoyed gardening, taking road trips, interacting with her nail clients, going out to eat, cooking for her family, and spending time on multiple adventures with her husband and son, family and many friends. She was a giant force in this world, learning early on to live well, show love, and embrace everything going on around her. She lived more in her 46 years than some live in a lifetime. Christine took her setbacks in stride, never pausing to complain. People she touched were changed for the better, and her absence leaves a void that can never be filled.

Services will be held from 3 pm to 7 pm at Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road in Oakhurst, New Jersey on Friday, December 23, with a ceremony at the funeral home immediately following.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Stomp the Monster ( or to a private scholarship fund for the DeVingos' 13 year old son, Peter. Information can be obtained through Fiore Funeral Home in Ocean Township, NJ (732) 531-3885.
