Connie R. Smith Obituary
Connie R. Smith

AGE: 62 • Point Pleasant

Connie R. Smith, age 62 of Point Pleasant passed away on September 28, 2017. She was born in Elizabeth, NJ and lived at the beach most of her life moving to Point Pleasant 20 years ago. Connie loved the beach, the mountains, her family, and most of all Jesus. She and her husband Mark went on many adventures together all over the world, hiking in national parks or relaxing on tropical islands. Yet she was most at peace on her Tuesday beach days, which were a tradition for over 25 years. She would often say that the beach was in her soul. To her siblings she was known as "Cookie" and was a loving, loyal sister and a true best friend. She had an abundance of joy and the gift of giving to others. Connie loved days spent shopping with and for her daughters and grandchildren. She cherished family gatherings whether at the pool, around the kitchen table, or in Disney World, the happiest place on earth. Connie truly loved life and her family.

Surviving are her husband Mark Smith, daughters Alycia Brune and her husband Jim, Lauren McCarrick and her husband Mike, and Erica Palma and her husband Angelo, brother Larry Rocha, sister Virginia Rocha, and her seven loving grandchildren Emily, Sarah, Matthew, Hannah, Michael, Caleb, and Madison (and one more on the way). The family will receive relatives and friends for a viewing on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 4-8pm at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, 885 Mantoloking Rd., Brick, NJ 08723. There will be a memorial service on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 7pm at Cornerstone Calvary Chapel, 6550 Rt. 9, Howell, NJ 07731. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Compassion International, www.compassion.com/donate. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.weatherheadyoung.com
