Cornelius B. O'Shea Obituary
Cornelius B. O'Shea

AGE: 87 • Berkeley Twsp., NJ

Cornelius B. "Con" O'Shea, age 87, peacefully entered eternal rest on February 8, 2017 at his home in Toms River.

A native of Killoe Cahirciveen, Co. Kerry, Ireland, he was the beloved husband of Hannah who preceded him in death and with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. Con was a devoted father to Brendan (Teri) and Richard; a loving Grandpa to Megan (Tim) Trudel, Courtney (Greg) Duryea, Brendan Jr., Justin, Nicholas and Anthony; and Great-Grandpa to Johanna and Ciara Duryea. Con was the youngest of nine O'Shea siblings, all of whom predeceased him - brothers Paddy, Mike, Dan & John and sisters Kitty, Mary, Nora and Sheila.

Con served in the British Army as a radio operator and infantryman with United Nations Far East land forces during the Korean conflict. He married Hannah in St. Ann's Church in Woodgreen, London on December 27, 1958. They immigrated to the United States in July 1960 and lived in the Inwood section of New York City for 30 years before moving to Holiday City, Toms River in 1993.

Con worked in New York as a manager in the precious metals department of Irving Trust Company from where he retired in 1991. Con loved travelling, spending time with family, and most especially his beloved game of golf. He and Hannah shared the distinction of being the only husband & wife members of the "Hole-in-One Club" among the Holiday City golfers.
