Dean Goldsmith Obituary
Dean Goldsmith

Asbury Park - It is with great sadness that the family of (Forrest) Dean Goldsmith announces his passing on February 10, 2018. Born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Dean grew up in Woodbridge and later spent years in Arizona, California and Hawaii. Most recently, he and his wife Gene lived in Asbury Park where together they observed the resurgence of this amazing shore town and thoroughly enjoyed its restaurants, shops and the beautiful ocean and boardwalk.

For all of us who loved him, Dean was a very unique individual who lived his life on his own terms. He really enjoyed having a good time and was quick to kick off a party. Dean loved to dance, played the drums and was a lover of all types of music from blues to rock to opera. He was an avid golfer. He also loved to travel, most particularly to St. Martin where his parents owned a home. He could grill a mean piece of salmon and thoroughly enjoyed entertaining friends and family.

Professionally, Dean worked in medical device sales - most recently for Maryland-based Acuity Medical. After his retirement just one year ago, he spent most of his time playing golf and working at the Shark River Golf Course.

Most importantly, Dean was a very big hearted and generous man - always ready to help out anyone in need. He donated a great deal of time to numerous causes, most particularly Meridian Hospice where he was a hospice volunteer for many years.

Dean loved his family dearly - most particularly his beloved wife Gene Glatter, his sister Michele Gonzales, his nephew Mitchell Gonzales (Mitchell's wife Tigran and their newborn, Gabriella), his sister-in-law Robin Glatter and his wonderful extended family and friends.

Arrangements were made by Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels in Ocean, NJ. If you wish to honor Dean's memory, please make a donation to the Asbury Park Little League or the Monmouth County SPCA.
