Dennis S. Pekala
Branchburg - Dennis S. Pekala, 83, died on Thursday, January 10, 2019. He was born on June 23, 1935 to the late Agnes and Paul Pekala in Fern Glen, Pa.
Dennis was a devoted husband, loving father, dear grandfather, brother and loyal friend. He was employed and retired from Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ and Fort Monmouth, NJ. Dedicated to his country, Dennis served in the US Army. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and his hunting dogs. Dennis will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife Karen, children Lisa Trevelino (Donald), Jodi Pekala and Dennis Pekala (Somarna), 4 cherished grandchildren Ryan, Madeline, Zion and Christelle. He is predeceased by his siblings Paul Pekala, Josephine Saxa, Anna Bridy and Antoinette Drong.
Visitation, Monday, January 14, 2019 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Bongiovi Funeral Home 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ (908) 725-1887. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 15, 2019 beginning 8:45 am at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass 9:30 am at St. Joseph Church 16 Somerset Street, Raritan, NJ. Burial will be at St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association 300 5th Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451 or the Best Friends Animal Society 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, Utah 84741.
