Dolores "Dolly" Price Obituary
Dolores "Dolly" Price

AGE: 84 • Tinton Falls

Dolores Fay Price, née Bauer, 84, of Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2016 with her loving family at her side. She was born and raised in Pennsylvania, raised her family in Union, NJ, and has been a resident of Seabrook Village for the past 16 years.

Dolores and Walter were high school sweethearts, having attended their senior prom together; they married and became "Wally and Dolly" in 1953, and began 63 beautiful years together. A strong and caring woman, Dolly was a registered nurse and was always very active in her children's lives. Their eldest daughter, Roxanne had Down syndrome, and Dolly was extremely invested in making a special life for Roxanne who flourished. She worked nights as a nurse to ensure her days were free to cater to all of her children's needs. She never missed a game or recital, helped with the Girl Scouts, and ran a youth ministry together with Wally.

After retirement, Dolly moved to Seabrook Village with her husband. Together, they helped start the Protestant Ministry on campus and could often be found attending events at Ocean Grove's Great Auditorium and worshipping at the United Methodist Church. They also loved traveling to visit family, vacationed often and immensely enjoyed taking advantage of many day trips sponsored by Seabrook.

Dolly was very active in the many churches she attended over the years, and sang in the church choirs with Wally whenever possible. She loved to keep her mind sharp with word puzzles, crosswords, and reading the newspaper. Above all, her favorite hobby was spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially attending their ballgames, recitals, and school events.

Dolly was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Evelyn; her daughter, Roxanne; and her brothers, Harold, Bruce, and Emerson. Surviving are her loving husband of 63 years, Walter "Wally" Price; her daughter, Stephanie Baird and her husband Dale of Manalapan, NJ; her son, David Price and his wife Kristin of Avon-by-the-Sea, NJ; her cherished grandchildren, Christopher and David Baird, and Sarah, Susannah, and Luke Price; and her youngest brother, Dennis "Denny" Bealer.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 1 PM to 2:30 PM in the Town Square Atrium at Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls, NJ. A memorial service will follow at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dolly's memory may be made to the Special Olympics of NJ, 1 Eunice Kennedy Shriver Way, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648 or the Seabrook Resident Care Fund, c/o Anne Marie Matthews, Seabrook Village, 3000 Essex Road, Tinton Falls, NJ 07753.
