AGE: 80 • of Brick

Donald R. Wilderotter, 80, of Brick passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Care One in Wall. Mr. Wilderotter retired in 1996 as a physical education teacher for the Springfield Board of Education. He was a graduate of Panzer College, the former Montclair State University and earned his Master's Degree from Seton Hall University in South Orange. He was a communicant of St. Peter's RC Church in Point Pleasant and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was very involved in the South Orange community where he was the town pool manager and enjoyed umpiring the recreational leagues. Don also was an avid NY Yankee fan.

Born and raised in South Orange, he lived in Maplewood for 30 years and Manasquan before moving to Brick 6 years ago.

He was predeceased by his sister, Dolores Heller. Surviving is his loving wife of 57 years, Marie (Schaefer) Wilderotter; his 7 children, Donald R. Jr., Chris and his wife, Paula, Nancy Adams and her husband, Charlie, Cynthia Manderski and her husband, John, Jim and his wife, Karen, Dayna Obry and her husband, Patrick and Douglas and his wife Jessica; brothers, Robert and his wife, Patricia and Philip and his wife, Elizabeth; sisters, Jean Holak and Rita Donahue; as well as 18 grandchildren.

Visiting will be on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 10:30am at St. Peter's RC Church, Point Pleasant Beach.
