Toms River - Beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother

Dora (D'Agostino) Gallipoli of Toms River passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, December 5th after a brave, four year battle with cancer.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Lou, and children: Lou II and wife, Nikki, of Toms River; Kerri of Glen Allen, VA; and Nicole and husband, Rich, of Manasquan.

Dora was born on June 28, 1946, in Jersey City to Assunta and Anthony D'Agostino. She spent her childhood years growing up in Jersey City, graduating from Snyder High School in 1964.

On September 7, 1968, she married the love of her life, Louis J. Gallipoli. Together they enjoyed a beautiful marriage of nearly 50 years, throughout which they were genuinely inseparable. They frequently traveled the world with their large family and many friends, and often enjoyed entertaining in their homes in Toms River and Florida.

Dora's biggest source of pride has always been her family, most notably, her 8 grandchildren: Makenzie, Jacob, Louis, Julianna, Nicholas, Carina, Marisa, and Mia. They all thoroughly enjoyed Holidays and sleepovers at Grandma's House, and particularly her Muddy Buddies, the special treat which she brought to each of their birthday celebrations. Dora was a dedicated and loving grandmother, who was always there for her grandchildren. Whether it was a sporting event, a school performance, or just to play a game of Uno, they were always her first priority.

Dora had an undeniably adventurous spirit and was always willing to try new things, as evidenced by a recent rock climbing experience with her grandchildren on a family cruise. She always lived life to the fullest, every single day.

Dora was always a loyal friend and confidante, and will be greatly missed by all those who loved her.
