AGE: 20 • Neptune City

Drew. L. Hughes, 20, of Neptune City, passed away suddenly February 26,2017 while serving his country as a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, Washington D.C. Drew was raised in Bradley Beach and Neptune City. He was a graduate of Neptune High School and the Naval ROTC Program, where he was an expert member of the Drill Team. As a U.S. Marine, he excelled and was recognized with early promotions and honors. Drew was known by all as a caring and sensitive person with extraordinary artistic talents and a uniquely warm personality. He was also a talented bass guitarist and loved sharing the stage with his Dad. The world has lost a kind, brave and gentle soul who brought joy and pride to his family and friends. Drew is predeceased by his grandparents, Ginger, Bob, Johnny, and Margaret. He is survived by his parents, Andrew Hughes and Deborah DiMichele, his brother, Kyle Hughes, his grandmother, Janice DiMichele, his grandfather, Lawrence DiMichele & step grandmother Marianne DiMichele, his step grandfather, Frederick VonZinn, his aunts, Cynthia Hughes-Dunphy, Heather McCooey, Kelly Rients & Kristin Rients, his uncles, Joseph DiMichele, Christopher Rients, Sean Dunphy & Jose Mendoza, and several cousins. The family will receive visitors on March 9, 2017 from 2pm-6pm at Francioni, Taylor & Lopez Funeral Home, 1200 10th Ave, Neptune. Interment at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery will be private for the family.
