Edith (Rosen) Zamost

Monroe Township - Edith (Rosen) Zamost passed away on September 13 at the Greenwood House in Ewing, New Jersey. Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, see had lived in Highland Park and later Monroe Township, New Jersey.

As a girl and young woman, she was a concert pianist and opera singer in New York City, performing in such venues as Carnegie and Town Halls, and on NBC radio. She served as a piano teacher for the remainder of her career. She was also a lifelong member of Hadassah, rising to the rank of national board member, national vice president, and chair of the Hadassah Magazine. She also served as a delegate to the World Zionist Congress.

Predeceased by her parents, her husband Benjamin, her siblings, Mrs. Zamost is survived by her daughter Marian Zamost Stern, grandsons Adam Stern and daughter-in-law Sunny Yudkoff, Ari Stern and Zachary Stern and granddaughters Jessica Rubin and Kerry Weinstein. She had 4 great grandchildren, Theo Stern, Emma and Max Rubin and Oliver Weinstein. Her daughter, Judith Zamost Grossman, passed away in 2014.

Funeral Service will be at the Highland Park Conservative Temple-Congregation Anshe Emeth, corner of Bennett Street and South Third Avenue, Highland Park on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 12:00 pm. Interment to follow at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ.

Donations may be directed to Hadassah or Jewish Family Service of MetroWest.
