Eileen Thompson Cassidy
Wall Township - Eileen Thompson Cassidy, 54, lost her valiant battle with cancer on March 7, while surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her children Michael, her twins Connor and Maeve Cassidy, her parents William and Mary Thompson of Brick, her brothers William Thompson and his wife Susan of Freehold, Michael Thompson and his wife Agnes of Marlboro and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Born on August 6, 1963 in Newark, Eileen grew up in Parlin. She attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and St. Mary's High School, both in South Amboy. Upon graduating from Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, Eileen embarked on a career in finance which included positions with the United States Senate, Goldman Sachs, A.G. Edwards and Merrill Lynch. After caring for her children as an at-home-Mom, she returned to the workforce as an Administrative Assistant for Parisi Speed School for The Atlantic Club in Manasquan. Eileen spent countless hours volunteering over the years. She was active in the Mothers' Club at Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, part of Team Shamrock for Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers foundation, helped with "The Frozen Roses" at St. Rose in Belmar, Team Freedom in Spring Lake and spent time at Mary's Place by the Sea as both a beneficiary and volunteer.
Eileen was involved in many activities at St. Catharine's School in Spring Lake and was a faithful member of that parish.
Eileen loved her family and friends, her faith and her Irish heritage. She always made time to help others in need, even when she had her own struggles. She loved her children and battled bravely with cancer to stay here with them. She loved a good joke or story and laughed with vigor. Her family, friends and faith helped her through her final days… Go Giants!
