Eleanora "Ellie" Posella Federici

Formerly of West Long Branch - Eleanora Posella Federici died peacefully at her home in Seabrook Village on March 1, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 8, 1920 in Newark, Ellie was the daughter of the late Antonio and Gilda Posella. The family moved to East Orange, and she graduated from East Orange High School. In 1947, she married the boy next door, Pascal L. Federici MD. Dr. Federici was a U.S. Air Force Flight Surgeon and the young couple spent their early years in Texas, Japan and Toledo, Ohio. In 1955, they moved to West Long Branch NJ, where they lived for 50 years and raised their four children. Their historic Victorian home quickly became the gathering place for family events and holiday celebrations.

Ellie was active in the Women's Auxiliary of the Monmouth County Medical Society, serving as vice president and chairman of the Scholarship Committee.

She will be remembered for her complete devotion to her family, her quiet strength, sweet nature, disarming sense of humor, and beautiful smile.
