AGE: 97 • Point Pleasant Beach

Elizabeth Marie Pfister passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Friday, October 6, 2017. Marie was the daughter of William John and Elizabeth Regina Watkins. She was born and raised in Point Pleasant Beach where she attended St. Peter's Elementary School, and Point Pleasant Beach High School. Marie received her nursing degree from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing and attended Jersey City State College.

Marie was a distinguished member of the Point Pleasant Beach community. She served as G. Harold Antrim Elementary School's beloved nurse where she spent 25 amazing years bringing smiles, spreading kindness, and offering saltines to fix even the tiniest of conundrums. In addition, she was also an active member of the Point Pleasant Beach Beautification Committee, Deborah Hospital Foundation, Point Pleasant Beach Historical Society, Point Pleasant Beach Woman's Club, Fire Company #1 Women's Auxiliary, Election Challenger, and a volunteer at St. Gregory's Pantry. She took great pride in her hometown of Point Pleasant Beach.

Marie was a proud and devout Catholic. She was an active and loving parishioner at St. Peter's Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society, and the Bereavement Committee. She enjoyed afternoons gazing at the inlet, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Marie is predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur Henry Pfister, sister, Patricia Meeker, and brother, William Watkins.

Marie is survived by the loves of her life: her son Thomas Pfister and significant other Antoinette Barnes, grandson Kevin Thomas Pfister, granddaughter Kathryn Pfister Woods and husband James Woods, and great grandson Henry Thomas Woods. She is also survived by her brother Richard E. Watkins, and his wife Jane Watkins, along with many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Gregory's Pantry of Point Pleasant Beach in Marie's memory. A memorial mass with be held in honor of Marie November 4, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Church 406 Forman Ave. Point Pleasant Beach, NJ.
