AGE: 93 • Brick

Ellen Willer Gill, 93, of Brick, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Brandywine Living at Reflections, Brick.

Mrs. Gill was born in Renfrew, Scotland. She then attended school for seven years in Hurstville, Australia, before coming to the U.S. as a child. She lived in Paterson, where she graduated from Eastside High School. In Paterson she was a communicant at St. Theresa Church, and was active in the church, school and Mother's Auxiliary, and served as President of the P.T.A. She was also a member of the Rosary Society and the Paterson Junior Women's Club.

In 1960, she moved to Union, where she was a member of St. Michael's Church, and the Catholic Daughters. She was also active with the Brownies, and Boy and Girl Scout Troops. She was a volunteer and member of the Overlook Hospital Auxiliary for fifteen years.

In 1988, Mrs. Gill moved to Greenbriar Woodlands, in Toms River. She served on several community committees and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Post 8885 Women's Auxiliary. She volunteered for several years at Brick Hospital, and was a member of Holy Family Church, Lakewood.

Mrs. Gill was predeceased by her beloved husband, John P. Gill, Jr., in 2007, as well as by her sister, Muriel O'Rourke, and her grandson's wife, Julia Gill. She is survived by her children and their spouses, John P. III and Lynn Gill, of Hillsborough, Maureen and Brian O'Reilly, of Sea Girt, and Lynneanne and John Stonaker, of Clark. She is also survived by her grandchildren, John P. Gill IV, of Clayton, Chris Gill, of Somerset, Shane and Irene O'Reilly, of Naples, FL, and Trevor and Michelle O'Reilly, of Charlotte, NC. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Carly Gill, and Conor and Catherine O'Reilly, as well Mrs. Gill's brothers, John Willer, of Franklin Lakes, and Charles Willer, of Wayne.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated for Mrs. Gill at St. Catharine's Church, Spring Lake, on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at 10:30 AM. Mrs. Gill's cremated remains will be buried privately, alongside her husband, at the N.J. Veteran's Cemetery, Arneytown.
