AGE: 87 • Northampton, PA

Eugene T Phillips 87 of Northampton, PA died at home on Thursday September 14, 2017. Born in Keyport, he resided in Scotch Plains, Tinton Falls and Bethlehem, PA before moving to Northampton, PA. He worked for Greyhound Bus Lines as a Human Resource Director for 33 years in New York City. He served in the Army from 1949-1953. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Sterling Heights Community in Bethlehem, PA and was past president of the Veterans Club and served as caretaker for the Chapel. He is predeceased by his brother Vernon Phillips and life partner, Vern Smith. Surviving are his nephews, Mark, Vernon G, Richard J, and Brian M Phillips; nieces, Diane Perna, Paula Cuddihy, Nancy Therien and Kathleen Phillips; sister in law, Ann Phillips; and 18 great nieces and nephews, 7 great-great nieces & nephews, and 1 great-great-great niece. Visitation is Monday 11-12 PM with a noon service at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester with interment to follow at St Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St Jude Children's research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis TN 38101.
