Florence Cannon, 99, passed away, Sunday, April 16, 2017.

Born in Jersey City on June 23, 1917, raised in North Arlington. Florence graduated from Hasbrouck Heights High School.

Florence was a homemaker before working for RCA factory in Harrison retiring many years ago.

Florence resided all of her married life in Kearny before moving to Lakewood where she lived for 20 years then moved to Brick.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Hugh Patrick Cannon in 1967, her parents John and Anna Burns, siblings John, Frank, Thomas and Anna Delpome. Surviving are her daughters Patricia Tolan and husband M.F.S. (Smitty), of Brick, Florence Taggart of Brick, Kathleen Fondi and husband Jerry of Manahawkin, Joan Newlon and husband Jim of Brick, also her sister Claire Papenberg of Red Lion, Pa. Florence had 16 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 12 great great-grandchildren. Florence was also known as "Peggy" by her nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be Monday, May 15, 2017 at O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick, N.J. Hours for family at 8:30a.m. Friends at 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, May 15, 2017, at St. Mary of the Lake RC Church, Lakewood. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
