AGE: 91 • Walnut Cove, NC formerly of Sea Girt

Frances Susan Hughes (Sue), 91, formerly of Wall Township, passed away on December 17th in Walnut Cove, North Carolina. Sue was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She resided with her husband in Montclair, NJ and then to South Orange, NJ where they continued to raise their family and were members of the Maplewood Country Club. Love of the Jersey Shore, moved them to Sea Girt where Sue made many lifelong friends as a member of the Spring Lake Country Club and parishioner of St. Marks Church in Sea Girt, NJ. Sue retired to Four Seasons of Wall before moving to Walnut Cove, North Carolina. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved raising and spending time with her family, playing golf and vacationing with family and friends in Florida.

In addition to her parents, Sue was predeceased by her husband, Thomas F. Hughes, two sons, Kevin Hughes and Thomas Hughes, Jr., three brothers, Robert, Harold and William Corcoran, two sisters, Barbara Sackett and Dorothy McCormick, and a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Hughes.

Sue is survived by her children: Deborah and Robert Bodner, Martin and Lisa Hughes, Harold and Carole Hughes, Mark Hughes and Tara and Craig Leonardi. She is also survived by her sister Joan West, 19 Grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm at Neary Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South Street, Manasquan, NJ. A mass will be held at St. Dennis Catholic Church, 90 Union Ave, Manasquan, NJ at 9:30am on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. Interment will follow at St. Catharine's Cemetery, 1100 West Chicago Blvd., Sea Girt, NJ.
