Francis X. LeMunyon, of Howell Township died Friday, January 20, 2017 at Jersey Shore University Hospital, Neptune Township. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Francis had a tryout with the New York Yankees and remained an avid fan. He attended the University of Notre Dame for two years. He then went on to the U.S. Navy where he served for four years in Iceland and Quansett Point, Rhode Island where he met his wife of 60 years, Carolyn.

He was employed for approximately 40 years for The Surety Association of America as vice president. He was a former communicant of St. Mary's Church, Colts Neck and St. Anthony's Church, Southern Pines, N.C. He retired to Whispering Pines, N.C. for 21 years where he pursued his love of golf.

His wife, Carolyn Grace LeMunyon, died in 2015.

Surviving are his children and spouses, Mary LeMunyon, Cream Ridge, Walter and Carol LeMunyon, Jackson, Betty and Kevin Duffy, Huntingtown, Maryland, Ken and Lisa LeMunyon, Freehold, Steve LeMunyon, Toms River, Peter and Danielle LeMunyon, Holmdel, and Rose and Chris Bianchino, Hillsborough; a brother, Mike, and 12 grandchildren, Brooke, Brendan, Evan, Kelsey, Jack, Kate, Ryan, Shannon, Hailey, Hannah, Michelle and Matthew.

Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. followed by services at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the would be appreciated.
