AGE: 80 • Middletown

Frank DeBenedetto, 80, of Middletown, NJ, died peacefully, surrounded by his family on January 27, 2017 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. He was born in Newark, NJ to the late Francesco and Michalina DeBenedetto. Frank worked as an electrician for the Newark Housing Authority for over 25 years. He was a proud member of the former Middletown Special Police Department. He loved animals and enjoyed working outside doing gardening. He had a great sense of humor and kept everyone laughing. He appreciated life and being a simple, down-to-earth person allowed him to cherish every moment.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Nikki (nee Clericuzio) DeBenedetto; his son, Frank M. DeBenedetto and his girlfriend, Dena Cavallero; his beloved granddaughter, Evangeline DeBenedetto and her mother Debra DeBenedetto; his brother, Rocco DeBenedetto; his two brother in laws, Gerald J. Clericuzio and wife Michelle, Charles P. Clericuzio and his wife Laura; his six nephews, Andrew Longo, Danny DeBenedetto, Richard DeBenedetto, Dennis DeBenedetto, JP Clericuzio, Peter Clericuzio; his four nieces, Lenni Gabriele, Michelle Caprio, Christine Lapidow, Natalie Clericuzio; and dozens of cherished friends from all walks of life.

Frank was preceded in death by his siblings, Janice Sidoti, Eleanor Gabriele, Lena Longo, Danny DeBenedetto, and Angelina Caprio.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 30, 2017 from 4 - 8 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, January 31 at 9:30 am at the funeral home. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 10:30 am at Mary Mother of God Church, 19 Cherry Tree Farm Rd., New Monmouth. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
