AGE: 89 • Berkeley Township

Frank L. Itak, 89, Toms River passed away Wednesday May 31st at home.

Born July 7, 1927 in Newark, as a young child he moved to Harlem, NY where he resided through his high school graduation. He enlisted in the military, serving honorably during World War II as a U.S. Navy Medical Corpsman. Mr. Itak was a route salesman for PepsiCo and a District Manager for the 7-Up Bottling Company.

He and his wife, the former Mary Reddy, were married on April 22, 1961 at Saint Thomas Church, Bloomfield, and moved to Point Pleasant, NJ where they resided for the next forty years. After retiring, Mr. Itak moved to Toms River.

For the last year he has lovingly tended to his wife, who has been bed-ridden after suffering a series of strokes. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grand children.

Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Bertha; his brothers Joseph and Michael, and his sister Gertrude Decker, Mr. Itak is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Mary; his sons & daughters-in-law Stephen & Jeanne Itak, of Princeton Junction, NJ; Frank & Karina Itak, of Toms River, NJ; son John Itak of Toms River, NJ; and daughter and son-in-law Susan and Thomas Levash of Somerville. He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Kelsey, Sara, Timothy, Keyla and Esteban.

Services will be private.
