Frank Raffa, 102, of Cliffwood, New Jersey passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at home with his loving family and loyal caregiver, Evelina. He was born in Newark, New Jersey and at an early age moved to Cliffwood with his family around 1925 where he lived for over 90 years. He may be one of the last of the families who settled in Cliffwood in the early 1920's. He opened Frank's Barber Shop in Cliffwood in 1936 working there until he retired in 1976 relinquishing the shop to his son-in-law at that time. Along with his wife, Mary, he volunteered for the Cliffwood First Aid and Cliffwood Fire Company receiving all emergency calls in his home and ringing the alarms to dispatch the first aid squad and firemen. His passion in life was to spend his days on the golf course.

Frank is survived by his two daughters and son-in-laws, Donna Banafato and her husband, Frank, and Marilyn Matysczak and her husband, Bernard; his grandchildren, Michele Lassen and her husband, Mark, Bernard Matysczak and his wife, Sandra, and Kimberly Boldman; eight great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Frank was predeceased by his devoted wife, Mary, his parents, Carmine and Maria; his brothers and sisters, John Raffa, Maria Freelove, Josephine Kahrs, Carmine Raffa, Elizabeth Brzezniak, Vincent Raffa and Anna Grzyb. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, New Jersey and Monday, December 19, 2016 at 9:15 AM with a 10:00 AM mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Church in Keyport.
