AGE: 91 • Lakewood

G. Ingeborg (Inge) Rudert passed peacefully into God's loving arms on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the age of 91.

Born in Germany on October 9, 1925 to Ella Gertraud and Karl Oelsner, she came to America as an infant and lived in Elizabeth and Newark, NJ. She married her husband, John, in 1944. Following John's military service, they settled in Union, NJ. After raising two children, she moved to Watchung, retired to Brick, and finally settled in Harrogate Independent Living in Lakewood, NJ. She and John were married for 72 years.

Inge worked for Prudential in the early 1940s. She later worked for Super Markets General/Pathmark for many years in the payroll department before she retired.

After retirement, Inge served as a volunteer for over 20 years at Paul Kimble Hospital in Lakewood, NJ.

Inge and John loved traveling as they traveled through European and Asian countries, Israel, and more. They made many trips to Germany learning about their heritage. Inge loved to read and kept an extensive log of books read.In later years, she kept up her reading through the help of the NJ State Library as part of their audio book program for the blind.

Inge sang in the church choirs throughout her life. She started at an early age in the Methodist Church in Newark, followed by the Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church in Union and the Presbyterian Church of Toms River. She was also active with the church's Women's Association.

Predeceased by her son, John P. Rudert, Jr., Inge is survived by her husband, John P. Rudert, her daughter, Carol Ann I. Koch, her son-in-law, Leonard D. Koch, her daughter-in-law, Carol Sooy Rudert; her seven grandchildren: Paul Koch, Deborah Majmudar, Gregory Koch, Samantha Arrasmith, Maegan Serra, Erica Bonds, and Helene Gonzales, in addition to several great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-9PM at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10AM.
