AGE: 79 • Easton, MD

George Stuart Clark, age 79, of Easton, MD died suddenly Thursday, December 22, 2016. He was born January 28, 1937 in Stamford, CT to the late George Stuart and the late Elizabeth (Links) Clark of Piscataway, NJ.

He received his bachelor's degree in Organic Chemistry from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ in 1963, and his PhD in Physical Organic Chemistry from the University of Maine, Orono in 1968.

He and his wife were instrumental in developing the Deutsche Spracheschule of Central New Jersey. George loved his family, wildlife (especially his raccoons), cars, music, history, and a good laugh. He was an animated storyteller full of wit and mischief who enjoyed telling humorous tales that left you with an everlasting laugh. He was a library of wisdom and knowledge, a man full of passion and compassion, creative and artistic, and will surely be missed by those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helga Sophie (Wilhelmi) Clark, his daughters, Helmi Katharina Walker and her husband, Ian, of Clemson, SC, and Astrid Emilie Bono and her husband, Roger, of Wilmington, DE. George is also survived by his grandchildren Arthur Karl Walker and Kathleen Elizabeth Walker. George is predeceased by his sister Judith Newton of Lebanon Township, NJ and survived by his brother Charles Clark of North Plainfield, NJ, along with many nephews and nieces.
