Gerard F. Wallace, 78, of Avon, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016.

Jerry was born in New York City and raised in Brooklyn. When he was a teenager the family moved to NJ where he graduated from Ridgewood High School. He went on to serve in the US Army, and after the Army he started his own carpentry business. Always an entrepreneur he eventually changed careers and started his own company, WA Financial. He enjoyed golf, tennis, cooking and painting. He also loved to travel around the world with his wife Grace.

Mr. Wallace was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Mary Elizabeth (Jones) Kenyon, by his brother, Arthur Wallace, and his sister, Dorothy Wallace-Sparhawk. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Grace (Nappo), and their loving children, John, Elizabeth and Laura. He will also be missed dearly by his grandchildren, Courtney, Joseph, Cormac, and Madison, and by his brothers, James Wallace, of Fla., Bobby Kenyon, of Rutherford, and Richie Kenyon, of Ridgewood, as well as by other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will take place at O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at Church of the Ascension, Bradley Beach, on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at 10 AM, followed by burial at St. Anne Cemetery, Wall.
