Gertrude Dublin Obituary
Gertrude Dublin

AGE: 97 • Manalapan

Gertrude Dublin, 97, of Manalapan, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on December 28th.

Gertrude (neé Sandler) was born in Brooklyn, NY and married her husband Emanuel in 1942. While raising her family, she worked as an executive secretary for an insurance broker for 15 years. Following this, she and Manny retired to Delray Beach, Florida and over 22 years later returned to New Jersey to be near family. Manny predeceased her in 2012, but not before they celebrated many wonderful family events together, including their 70th wedding anniversary earlier that year. A highlight for Gert was her wonderful, family-filled 95th birthday party just two years ago, and many recent celebrations.

Gert enjoyed reading and cooking as well as knitting and crocheting - and always produced beautiful sweaters and blankets as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren arrived. She and Manny played the mandolin in the Workman's Circle Orchestra in New York City and later in the Florida Mandolin Orchestra. They were lifelong members of the Workman's Circle Organization. Gert was always well versed and ready to talk about politics and world affairs, especially about our latest presidential election!

Gertrude lived a life of grace, dignity, and kindness. She was a loving mother to her three daughters and their husbands: Sharon and Ed Sable of Marlboro, Ileen and Alan Kessler of Kensington, MD, and Susan and Bruce Oran of Morganville. She was a devoted grandmother to Lori and Steve Herschman, of Marlboro, Kenneth and Christina Sable of Monroe Township, Dana and Steven Weiss of Deerfield, IL, Abby and David Weiner of Bethesda, Md, Mathew Oran of Wall Township, NJ, and Stephanie Oran of New York City. And she was crazy about her 10 great grandchildren - Samantha, Alex, and Daniel Herschman, Dylan and Gabriella Sable, Jack and Harry Weiss, and Max, Ben, and Eli Weiner.

Services will be held at Bloomfield Cooper Chapel in Manalapan, NJ on Monday, January 2nd at 10:30 am. In honor of Gertrude, contributions would be very welcome to the Metaplastic Breast Cancer Global Alliance Go Fund Me, which can be accessed at: www.mp bcalliance.org.
