AGE: 90 • Ortley Beach, NJ

Giovanni "John" A. Cirelli, 90, of Ortley Beach section of Toms River Twsp., NJ died on Tuesday April, 21 2015 at Community Medical Center Toms River, NJ. John was born in Union City, NJ and lived in Ft. Lee, NJ before moving to Ortley Beach, NJ 30 years ago. He was a parishioner of St. Pio of Pietrelcina RC Church where he was an Usher , a Eucharistic Minister, on the Holy Name Society and a member of the Knights of Columbus. John proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII where he became a prisoner of war and earning a purple heart.

John is predeceased by his parents Ernest and Pauline Cirelli, his daughter Linda Marcin and 9 siblings.

Surviving is his loving wife Joan Cirelli; his daughter Doreen Ortizio and her husband Nicholas of Sayreville, NJ; his two sons John Cirelli and his wife Lori of New Port Richey, Fl and Jeffrey Cirelli and his wife Hope of Greer, SC; his five sisters Diana, Dolores, Mitzi, Adaline and Florence; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Family will receive friends on Thursday April 23, 2015 from 2-4 &7-9pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 809 Central Ave. Seaside Park, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday April 24, 2015 11am at St. Pio of Pietrelcina RC Church. Burial will follow to BG William C Doyle Veterans Cemetery Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Military Order of the Purple Heart Ocean County Charter, Am Vets Post#2, Rte 571 Jackson, NJ 08527.
