Gloria Virginia Adkisson Obituary
Gloria Virginia Adkisson

Tinton Falls - Gloria Virginia (Ferrin) Adkisson passed from this earth in peace on March 8, 2018.

Gloria Adkisson, devoted mother, proud grandmother and faithful catholic could not be missed more by those she is leaving, and yet the reunion she is to attend with family and friends that have gone before is something to rejoice over. Gloria Adkisson was born and enjoyed her early childhood in Newark, NJ prior to moving with her family to Red Bank in 1938. Gloria later graduated from St. James Grammar School and Red Bank High School prior to attending Monmouth College in West Long Branch, NJ. Gloria began her career as a drafting assistant with Bendix Industries in Eatontown prior to joining Bell Telephone in Red Bank, where she was a switchboard operator for many years. Gloria was a devoted parishioner at Holy Trinity Church in Long Branch.

A mother of three, she made sure that her children Lisa, William III, and Dale were never at a loss for motherly love. With her children, daughter-in-law Tammy, and her two grandchildren Collin and Morgan, family life was everything to Gloria. She is pre-deceased by her brother, Robert Ferrin, husband, William F. Adkisson Jr, and her fiancé, Anthony "Zon" Marino Sr.

Gloria has now entered into the loving embrace of the Lord as she embarks on her journey home. As she departs, the Good Shepard welcomes her with loving arms.

Family and friends will gather at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch NJ, on Sunday, March 11th at 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 4:00 pm. Interment will be Monday, March 12th at 11:00 am at Mt Olivet Cemetery, 100 Chapel Hill Road, Middletown, NJ.
