Mr. Gregory Louis Werenski, Sr.

AGE: 74 • Charlotte, NC

Mr. Gregory Louis Wereski Sr. "Spanky" to his friends and family, passed away on November 8, 2016, at Carolinas Medical Center Mercy in Charlotte, NC. at the age of 74.

He was lovingly cared for by his wife Amelia S. Reyes Wereski. Gregory was preceded in death by his father, Louis Wereski, and his mother, Alvera Anna Prykanowski-Wereski and his first Wife Betty Jane Wereski. Survived by his wife Amelia, his daughter Cassandra Marie Wereski (fiancé Ryan), son Gregory Louis Wereski Jr (Debbie), son Victor Vincent Wereski, son Allen Paul Wereski, Step daughter Chi Dormido (Jason), step daughter Bless Gabatin (Allen), step son Kiko Reyes, grandchildren Michael, Matthew, Marcus, Victor, Jiselle, step grandchildren Enzo, Ian Johann, and Jericho.

Born in Trenton he spent most of his as a Trenton and Hamilton Township Resident. Gregory worked his adult life for the Department of Corrections, retiring as a sergeant from Trenton State Prison in 1994. He was a disabled vet from the Coast Guard in 1970. He was also a Bordentown Elk B.P.O.E Lodge 2085 for many years before moving to Wadesboro NC in 1995. After retirement he proceeded to work as the Jail Administrator for Anson County Sheriffs Department, NC. He was cherished by all who knew him. His laughter would light an entire room and make everyone laugh around him. Favorite hobbies besides his wife, children and grandchildren was his love for football and watching the Panthers.

The Funeral will be held at 10:00am on Monday November 14th from Winowicz Funeral Home 308 Adeline Street Trenton NJ 08611 at the corner of Beatty. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday at Church of the Holy Cross, Divine Mercy Parish. Calling Hours will be Sunday afternoon from 3:00pm to 6:00pm and again Monday morning from 9:00am to 10:30am. Burial will follow in St. Mary Assumption Cemetery in Hamilton Township. Due to Cemetery Restrictions limiting the number of flowers takin into the cemetery the family would appreciate any memorial contributions to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 7 Mill Brook Road, Wilton, N.H. 03086 or to PO Box 14301, Cincinnati Ohio 45250 in memory of Gregory.
