Point Pleasant

Harold G. Seidler of Point Pleasant passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017.

He was a marine veteran of WWII. He served with the New Jersey State Police from 1946 - 1972. He was employed at E.R. Squibb & Sons as Security Manager from 1972 - 1986.

Seidler was born in Newark and lived in Passaic before moving to Pt. Pleasant in 1956. His wife of 66 years, Joyce, predeceased him in 2014. Sister, Bernice Mingo in 2014, brother-in-law Emanuel Mingo in 2017 of Lexington, KY, and brother-in-law Arthur Katzin of Ulster, PA in 2016 also predeceased him. Surviving are his children, Janet Gardner of Brick, Harold and wife Susan of Jamestown, RI, Thomas and wife Maria of Fort Myers, FL and Barbara and husband Robert S. Woolley of Howell. Sister, Evelyn Katzin of St. Augustine, FL, 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren also survive him.

Seidler was a member of the American Legion, the Former New Jersey State Troopers Association, Deborah Hospital Foundation and Bristol-Myers Squibb Retiree's Club.

Funeral Services are private and internment will be at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Arneytown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to the NJ State Police Museum in recognition of Dolores Raisch, a long time friend of Captain Seidler and NJSP Museum buddy and exemplary assistant to the archivist.
