Harry Kurry

Seaside Park - Harry Kurry, 90, of Seaside Park, NJ, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Community Medical Center, Toms River.

Born in Orange, NJ, he lived in East Orange and summered in Seaside Park from 1961 until moving there permanently in 1973. He was also a resident to Holiday City, Berkeley Twp.

Harry was a United States Navy WWII veteran, serving on the USS New Jersey Battleship.

He was a Firefighter for the East Orange Fire Department for 37 years, retiring in 1992.

Prior to serving as a Firefighter, Harry was owner of Little People Photography in East Orange, NJ for 8 years.

He was a parishioner of St. Catharine of Siena RC Church, Seaside Park, and was a member of the Ground Swipers Gun Club in Lacey, NJ and the Hunter Club in Whiting, NJ.

Harry was predeceased by his wife, Ruth Ann, in 2012, and his day old son and daughter, Joseph and Mary.

He is survived by his four children, Nancee Lee Nevins of Barnegat, NJ, Susan Graham and her husband Douglas of Forked River, NJ, Gerard Kurry and his wife Theresa of Toms River, Mary Anne Pastore and her husband Matt of Chester, VA, his sister Dottie Gaul of Brick, NJ, six grandchildren, two step grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. A funeral service will be offered Monday 10:00am at the funeral home. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
