AGE: 85 • Berkeley Twp

Harvey F Hurley 85 of Berkeley Twp. died at home on Tuesday May 2, 2017. Born in Belmar, he resided in the Neptune area for 47 years before moving to Berkeley Twp. in 2008. He retired in 2008 after 31 years from Fort Monmouth in Eatontown as a licensed Black Seal Boiler Operator. He served in the Marine Corp during the Korean War as a sergeant from 1949-1953. As a young teenager he worked at Monmouth Park Racetrack walking horses which he truly loved, he enjoyed collecting pocket knives and replica vintage cars and was an avid Snoopy fan.. Surviving are his wife of 16 years, Shirley, 3 daughters, Cindy L Gullo & husband Jack, Diana Hurley & Ellen Magliaro all of Lanoka Harbor, and Lori Mastronardi & husband Victor of Toms River, sons, John & wife Cheri Brister of Manchester and Dave & wife Jeanette Brister of Camden, NC, brother, Robert & wife Gail Hurley of Niceville, FL and 10 grandchildren, Jennifer & husband Jeff, Jason & wife Christy, Justin, Anthony, David, Elizabeth, Courtney and Kevin and 8 great grandchildren, Roland, Maya, Daniel, Anna, Leah, Jack, Luke and Bryce. Visitation is Friday 2-4 PM with a 4 PM service and honor guard at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd Manchester. Cremation is private.
