Dr. Harvey Norman Rein

AGE: 80 •

Dr. Harvey Norman Rein, 80, of Wellington, Florida, formerly of Holmdel, Monroe Township and Newark, NJ passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 14, 2017.

A chapel service is scheduled for Tuesday, January 17, 2017 @ 1:00 pm at Menorah Chapels at Millburn, 2950 Vauxhall Rd., Union(Vauxhall), NJ. Interment Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin, NJ. He was born June 24, 1936 to Bertha and Charles Rein of Newark. He was a well-respected, painless and loved dentist in Aberdeen, NJ for more than 30 years. Harvey graduated from Weeqhuaic High School, Farleigh Dickson University, and Temple School of Dentistry. Harvey served with honor in the US Army working on guided missiles. He resided with his wife, Susan, of 55 years who was his confidant, best friend, soul mate and love of his life. They resided in Florida for the past 15 years. Harvey was an avid golfer, a champion stick ball player and an aficionado of horse racing and the stock market. But most of all he was an amazing and loved human being, a real mensch, who touched so many lives. Harvey was a devoted and caring father to his three daughters, Michelle Pressman (Mark), Andrea Storper, and Phyllis Venancio (Mario). Harvey leaves behind six grandchildren, Craig, Emily, Joshua, Paige, Drew and Scott, who were his pride and joy and lasting legacy. He leaves behind a special sister, Eleanor Shiffrin, a sister-in-law, Norma Rein and a sister and brother-in-law, Lynda and Ivan Radowitz as well as many nieces, and nephews. Harvey also leaves behind a dear group of childhood friends from Newark including Saul Goodman, Stuart Jason, Paul Gluck, Samuel Karpel and those who are already deceased, Robert Goodman and Arnold Kaplan. Harvey was a role model and loved by all who knew him for his quick wit, kindness and all around good guy persona. He will be missed by everyone who knew him because to know him was to love him. Harvey will be forever in our hearts and thoughts.
