HELENE S. CONWAY
AGE: 97 NEPTUNE
Helene S. Conway, 97, of Neptune, formerly of Asbury Park, Ocean Grove and Oakhurst, died Thursday, Oct. 23 at Imperial Care Center, Neptune. Helene was a graduate of St. Rose of Belmar and Asbury Park High School. She attended Monmouth College, Fordham University and Cooper Union in New York City. She began her career at Fort Monmouth in 1941. She transferred to the Department of the Navy in Washington, D.C. and was employed as a technical writer and editor until her retirement in 1973. She returned to Monmouth County after her retirement. She was a communicant of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church, Asbury Park. She was an honorary member of the Jersey Shore Women's Club and member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
She was predeceased by her brother, James N. Conway and her sisters, June C. Ford, Alyce C. Lathrop and Aileen C. Connolly. She is survived by several nephews and nieces and by several grand-nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Buckley Funeral Home, 509 Second Ave., Asbury Park. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Holy Spirit Church, Asbury Park. Interment is private.
