Toms River - Hope Benson Dingfeld passed away February 13th at home surrounded by family. She was born November 1928 in Rahway where she graduated from Rahway High School, and lived in Jackson and Lakewood before settling in Toms River. Hope had quite an extensive career at NJ Bell (now Verizon) starting as a Service Representative and retiring as an Assistant Manager after 25 years as well as being a life member of the Telephone Pioneers. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Lakewood for over 50 years, the United Methodist Women and serving as Director of the Church Emergency Pantry. Hope also invested many hours volunteering to others, including Care Givers and The Monmouth Museum.

Hope was predeceased by her parents Edith Skay & Herbert Benson, her husband George Dingfeld and her sisters Charlotte Nickell and Shirley Wittke. Hope is also survived by sister Sue Wright, her three children and spouses Jeffrey and Janet Dingfeld, George Dingfeld and Caryne and Skip Lucas, as well as 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 26 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 19 from 2 - 6pm at the Timothy Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd. in Toms River. Funeral, Tuesday; 8:30 am from the funeral home with a service at Christ United Methodist Church, Lakewood, celebrated at 10:00. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the .
