AGE: 62 • Howell

Howard W. "Hoppy" Sherman died Thursday, March 16, 2017 at his home. Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, Howard grew up in Monroe Township, lived in Pt. Pleasant before moving to Howell in 2000. He worked as a mechanical contractor for John Boyd Contracting, Tinton Falls. Hoppy enjoyed spending time with family especially his granddaughter, and just enjoyed life and all it had to offer. He loved horses, fishing and operating heavy equipment. He especially loved his grand dog Dually.

Hoppy was predeceased by his mother Gloria Sherman Johnson and his stepfather Harold "Pap" Johnson, his brother Harry Sherman and sister Janice Manganello. Surviving are his children; Rachel Sherman and her husband Marlon Garcia of Howell, NJ, Matthew Sherman and his wife Kristina of Somerville, NJ, Amy Metta and her husband Mathew of Farmingdale, NJ, a granddaughter Avianna Metta, 5 siblings; Judy Myers, Gay Sherman-Murray, Charlie Sherman, Tracey Stickler, Paul Sherman, 13 grand dogs and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting will be Monday, from 4-8 PM at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick. Committal will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Deborah Heart and Lung, 200 Trenton Rd, Browns Mills, NJ 08015.
