Humbert Scipione, 86, of Brick passed away peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. Born in Philadelphia, PA on January 11, 1930, Mr. Scipione graduated from Northeast High School's Honor Class of 1947. He proudly served his country as a decorated soldier in the US Army with the Armed Forces Radio Service in Japan, Korea and Germany from 1948-1954 earning 6 Bronze Service Stars. Upon his return, he graduated from Columbia Institute in 1956 with a degree in accounting. He was elected Tax Collector, Borough Treasurer, and Secretary School Board in Gibbsboro, NJ from 1960-1962. From 1962-1970, he became Assistant Controller for Essex Chemical in Clifton. Mr. Scipione then went back to school and graduated with high honors at Rutgers University in 1970 where he was a fraternity member of Delta Sigma Pi. From 1970-1972, he was named Group Controller of the Manufacturing Group at SCOA Industries in Columbus, OH then became Director of Special Projects and Operations Analyst of Consumer Products Group at W.R Grace & Co. in NYC from 1972-1978. He then went on to become President and Chief Operating Officer at Lettise Handbags from 1978-1985 and finished his career as Vice President at Precision Circuits, Inc. retiring in 2004.

Mr. Scipione was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA he lived in Gibbsboro, Middletown, Columbus, OH and Holmdel before moving to Brick 26 years ago.

He was predeceased by his parents, Eugenio and Mary Scipione; and by his brother, Dominic Scipione. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Helga Sophia Scipione; sons, Carl Scipione and his wife, Patricia of Wall and Michael Scipione and his wife, Helene of Lincroft; grandchildren, Dawn and her husband, Josh, Danielle and her husband, Beau, Amanda, Erica, Ashley, Michael, James and his wife, Kristen and Matthew. He also leaves his 3 great grandchildren, Kealia Grace, Theo Parker and Madison Rose.

Visiting will be on Tuesday from 4-8pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday 9am at St. Dominic's RC Church, Brick.
