Inge London Obituary
Inge London

AGE: 83 • Tinton Falls

Inge London, 83, of Tinton Falls, NJ died in her home with loved ones by her side on. She leaves behind her Beloved husband Virgil London Jr. Her Loving children Charles ( Melissa), Lance, Keith ( Debra), Kevin, Virgil ( Kiesha), Linda German ( Willie) and Valorie London. Also her adoring Grandchildren Diana, Latasha, Kimberly, Kelley, Lance, Rachel and Virgil and Great Grandchildren Kaycen, Takeara, and London.

Inge was born in Berlin, Germany and survived WWII. Toward the end of the war, she met the love of her life, Virgil London, Jr., an African American soldier in the U.S. Army, to begin nearly 65 years of wedded bliss. They married in Germany in 1952, over 10 years before the passage of Civil Rights legislation in the U.S. Unfettered by the segregation laws and racial tensions of the time, Inge only saw love and strength in the bond she had created with the love of her life.

Inge provided the support and foundation to Virgil's army career. Enduring heartbreaking separation when the Army sent Virgil to the Korean War, she still created a loving home full of joy and laughter for their children. When Inge settled in Tinton Falls, NJ with Virgil, their family grew to include seven children who they raised with love, security, and joy.

Inge loved to laugh, to be with family, and to share family history and her German culture. She was an incredible cook and loved to bake. She always made everyone around her feel important. Although in her eighties, she was still wise beyond her years and beyond her generation. She saw into a person's heart and accepted everyone. She was an amazing and unique energy, the loss of whose laughter and love will be felt deeply until we meet again.

A Chapel Service will be conducted on Monday November 14th at 1:30pm at Johnson McGinley Funeral Home 2652 Hwy 138, Wall Twp, NJ, 07719.

Friends will be received from 12 noon to 2 pm.
