Isabel S. Kulikowski Obituary
Isabel S. Kulikowski

Highland Park - Isabel Sheila Kulikowski, née Tuckett, passed away on September 13 at the Parker Nursing Home in Piscataway, NJ, at the age of ninetyfive. A long-time resident of Highland Park, she is survived by her son, Casimir A. Kulikowski of Highland Park, daughter Antonia I. Kaull of Washington, D.C., son Hubert E. Kulikowski of Montclair, NJ, and six grandchildren: Michael, Victoria, James, Casimir, Charlotte, and Katherine. She was predeceased by her husband, Victor A. Kulikowski. A memorial celebration of her life is being planned. Isabel was born in 1923 in Broxbourne, Herts, England. Her father, Hubert Tuckett, was from Somerset in the West Country; he was a descendant of French Hugenot refugees who immigrated to England in the late 17th Century. Her great-grandfather was a surgeon and alderman in Bath; her grandfather was a principal in the East Ferry Road Engineering Works in Millwall, London, which designed, manufactured, and distributed cranes and other industrial heavy equipment worldwide. Her father was an engineer who helped install the first wireless Marconi aerial near Cape Town, South Africa, in 1923. Her mother, Violet Tuckett, nee Bray, was from St. Aubin, Jersey, in the Channel Islands. During the Second World War, Isabel became a member of the St. John's Ambulance Brigade and married Polish Artillery Officer Victor A. Kulikowski. The family moved to Argentina in 1947, where they lived until 1961; then they immigrated to the USA. They lived in New York City, New Haven, Hamden, CT, and Newport, RI, before moving to Highland Park in 1984.
