Isabella Bisset Kelley Obituary
Isabella Bisset Kelley

AGE: 91 • Tinton Falls

Isabella Bisset Kelley, 91, of Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls, formerly of Ramsey, passed away on September 22, 2017 due to natural causes.

Born in Paterson, NJ to Scottish immigrant parents, she was the youngest of 6 children raised in their Clifton home. She graduated from Clifton High School and earned her nursing degree from Paterson General Hospital. With her husband of 59 years, William "Bill" Kelley, a Surgeon Podiatrist, she lived for 58 years in Ramsey where they raised their four children. They were long time members of Ramsey Presbyterian Church.

Her nursing career spanned over 40 years, beginning at Paterson General Hospital, and culminating with 26 years as a school nurse in Ramsey. As a dedicated and loving wife and mother, school nursing so close to home assured her availability for her children during emergencies and school vacations. Upon her retirement from Ramsey Public Schools, she worked part time in her husband's and son's podiatry office, also in Ramsey, until they both retired in 1993 when their son took over the practice.

An avid needle worker, she is best remembered for the 24 treasured needlepoint Christmas stockings she created for family and friends. Her stockings and other award winning creations were the focal point of several exhibits of her work, most recently in 2013. Following her husband's death in 2008 she moved from Ramsey to Seabrook Village in 2012 where she spent the rest of her days.

She is survived by her children: Sandra Bentley, Gayle and David Greenwood, William Kelley, Patricia and Richard Johnson; grandchildren Daniel and Marilyn Bentley, Kelley and Scott Warner, Matthew Greenwood, Katelyn and Michael Giles, James Greenwood, Sean, Paige and Fallon Kelley, Kimberly Kelley, and Jillian Johnson; and great grandchildren Megan Warner and Eric and Colin Giles.

A memorial service will be held in the Garden Room at Seabrook Village's Continuing Care facility on Friday October 20th at 11 AM. Lunch will be served immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the First Presbyterian Church, 15 Shuart Lane, Ramsey NJ 07446 or .
