Ocean Twp. - Jack Stazyn passed away peacefully on Sunday January 14, 2018. He was born in Union City and grew up in Freehold. After graduating from Freehold High School and Monmouth College he married his High School sweetheart Dorothy Bellamy. Jack retired from Jersey Central Power & Light Company in 1987 as the Southern Area State Operations Manager. He was a member of the Colts Neck, Ocean and Monmouth counties camera clubs where he won many awards for photographic excellence. He was a licensed private pilot since the age of 16 and past president of the Jersey Aero Club. Jack also was an excellent marksman and a member of the Monmouth County and Central Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs. Over the years he volunteered at the Monmouth Museum, Pine Tree Players, Bradley Food Pantry and the Ocean Township Police Reserves. He was a proficient wood worker with a creative flair and could repair anything. Jack was known for his quick wit and sense of humor that put smiles on many faces. He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Alice Stazyn, sister Marian Fariello and his wife Dorothy. Surviving are his daughter, Linda Gurman of Tinton Falls, son-in-law Peter Gurman, grandson Steven Gurman and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of Jack's life will be held on a date to be announced. Buckley Funeral Home, Asbury Park is in charge of arrangements. For condolences please visit
