James Emmino 82 of Leisure Village West, Manchester died Saturday, July 8, at home. He owned and operated Emmino Brothers Auto Salvage, Staten Island for the last 40 years, retiring in 1990 from the day to day operations. He was an Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a Life Member of the American Legion and the VFW Post #10061, Lakehurst. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Council #9134, Leisure Village West, and the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, McMahon Assembly, Toms River. He belonged to the Travel, Bocce, Italian-American, and Dance, Farmers, Fishing, and Briscola Card Clubs, all of Leisure Village West. He was a parishioner of St John's Church, Lakehurst. Born in Brooklyn, NY, He lived in Staten Island for 40 years before moving to Manchester in 2004. He is predeceased by his daughter, Donna Whikehart, who died last March. Surviving is his loving wife of 62 years, Marie (Pace) Emmino, a daughter, Lisa McNutt of Staten Island, NY, a sister, Anna Pistolesi of Newburgh, NY, a brother, Salvatore Emmino of Brooklyn, NY, a son-in-law, Dean Whikehart of Toms River, and 4 grandchildren, Airman Dean Whikehart, Michael and Nicholas Whikehart, and Caitlyn McNutt. Visitation is Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Road, Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Wednesday at 10 am at St John's Church, Lakehurst with interment to follow at St Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.
